Specifically, areas such as weather forecasting, flood monitoring, precision agriculture, renewable energy, and smart grid development hold immense promise for the ICT sector’s involvement.
Through the use of ICT, the development of accurate weather forecasting and early warning systems can aid in disaster preparedness, effectively reducing the negative impact on lives and property. Collaboration with meteorological agencies and government bodies is crucial to enhance the effectiveness of these systems.
Additionally, the application of remote sensing and GIS technologies can facilitate the development of flood monitoring and management systems. Such systems provide real-time information to emergency responders, enabling better coordination in flood response and ultimately leading to reduced damage.
Furthermore, by implementing precision agriculture solutions, Nigeria’s agriculture sector can undergo a revolutionary transformation.
