Over the past 20 years, the ICT sector in Nigeria has witnessed sustained growth and development that has seen its influence on the Nigerian polity and economy widen and deepen tremendously. For example, from about 400,000 active connected lines around 1999, the number of active connected telephone lines in Nigeria, has exploded to over 195 million active lines as of December 2021.
